What SpawnX does today
Every feature listed here is available now. We’d rather under-promise than show you a button that does nothing.
Messaging
- Real-time delivery
- Messages, edits and reactions sync instantly across every open session of your account.
- Message history
- Recent messages load first; scroll up to page through older history without downloading everything at once.
- Replies
- Quote a specific message so context is never lost in a busy chat.
- Reactions
- Respond with 👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 🙏 🔥 🎉 — tap again to remove.
- Edit and delete
- Fix a typo or remove a message you sent. Edited messages are labelled; deleted ones leave a short notice.
- Offline-friendly
- If your connection drops, SpawnX shows it and sends queued messages when you’re back. Failed messages can be retried.
Groups
- Up to 256 members
- Create a group with a name and description, then add people by username.
- Roles and permissions
- Owners manage admins and can transfer ownership. Admins add and remove members and edit group details. Permissions are enforced by the server.
- Leave any time
- Members can leave a group whenever they like; owners transfer ownership first.
- Added notifications
- When someone adds you to a group, you’ll see it in your notifications.
Presence and status
- Online status
- See who’s online and when they were last active — unless they’ve chosen to hide it.
- Typing indicators
- Know when someone is writing a reply.
- Read receipts
- In direct chats, see when your message has been read. Turn this off and you won’t share yours.
- Unread counts
- Every conversation shows how many messages you haven’t seen yet.
Finding things
- Conversation search
- Filter your conversation list by name instantly.
- People search
- Find people by their unique @username to start a chat or add them to a group.
- Find in chat
- Search the messages loaded in the current conversation; load older history to search further back.
Control and comfort
- Privacy settings
- Hide your online status or read receipts.
- Block and report
- Blocked people can’t message you or add you to groups. Reports go to the SpawnX team for review.
- Mute conversations
- Silence notifications for a chat without leaving it.
- Browser notifications
- Optionally get a notification for new messages while SpawnX is open in a background tab.
- Themes
- Dark by default, with a carefully designed light theme or automatic switching.
Not available yet
SpawnX doesn’t currently offer voice or video calls, end-to-end encryption, public community discovery, push notifications when the app is closed, or full-text search across your entire history. We’ll only list these once they genuinely work.
