Privacy Policy

This document describes how the SpawnX service works today. It should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel for your jurisdiction before public launch.

What we collect

• Account data — your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, the name and profile photo Google provides. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and never stored by SpawnX.
• Profile — display name, username, optional bio and profile photo. Other signed-in SpawnX users can see your profile.
• Conversations — messages, reactions, replies, attachments, group names and membership.
• Activity signals — online status and last-active time (unless you hide them), typing indicators, and read receipts (unless you turn them off).
• Settings — theme, privacy and notification preferences, and your block list.
• Reports — reports you file about people or messages.

SpawnX does not include advertising or third-party analytics. Your theme preference is also kept in your browser’s local storage.

How we use it

Only to provide SpawnX: delivering messages, showing profiles and status, enforcing permissions, preventing abuse and reviewing reports.

Where it’s stored

Data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database and Cloud Storage). Google acts as our service provider and encrypts stored data at rest; connections are encrypted in transit. SpawnX does not currently use end-to-end encryption — see Security & Privacy.

Who can see what

• Messages and attachments: the members of that conversation.
• Your profile: other signed-in SpawnX users.
• Settings, block list, notifications and conversation list: only you.

Retention and deletion

When you delete your account we delete your profile, username, settings, status, block list, notifications and conversation list, remove you from groups, and delete your sign-in account. Messages you sent stay in the conversations they were sent to and appear as from a “Deleted account”, so other participants’ history stays intact. You can delete individual messages before deleting your account.

Your choices

• Hide your online status and turn off read receipts in Settings → Privacy.
• Edit or delete your messages and profile at any time.
• Delete your account in Settings → Account.

Children

SpawnX isn’t directed to children below the minimum age for online services in their country.
